Visual Effects & Animation Studio, Resin, was commissioned to help work out a way of translating existing art direction for Thoroughbred Racing SA in to motion. The main problem Resin faced were the heroes of the show, the Thoroughbreds weren't available. The solution was to create 3D horses & jockeys & composite them into various South Australian landscapes as per the print campaign.

Throughout the day the weather was testing especially in the last scene where Resin thought they'd need to do a ton of work making an muddy overcast day look awesome. We waited, & waited, & waited, & to be honest stressed a little, then the sun popped! I love it when a plan comes together!!

The Scorpion rig is the ultimate solution for DSLR shoulder mounted shooting with an EVF. At the centre of the Scorpion is Zacuto's highly adjustable DSLR Baseplate, which allows you to mount any DSLR to the rig & mount your rig to a tripod.

Zacuto's new curved form fitting silicone gel shoulder pad connects to the back of the baseplate via two 2” M/F rods. The rods screw into the back of the DSLR baseplate & connect to the front of the shoulder pad via 15mm quick release ports, making the switch from shoulder mount to tripod use quick & easy. The Scorpion Shoulder Assembly also features an innovative ball joint built into the front of the shoulder pad. This allows the entire shoulder pad assembly to articulate in multiple directions so shooters can angle it to fit their body. The Scorpion can be used on your left or right shoulder.

Pete Hall & RedBikini’s Director Justin O’Brien saw the Cane Corner TVC an opportunity to put Urban Cine’s new Kessler KC12/8 Crane, Revolution Head & Oracle Controller to the test. The crane was used in all but one shot.

The Sony PMW-F3 Super 35 Camera & Atomos Samurai ProRes Recorder were chosen for this job.
